Description
Sacred Heart of Jesus drawn in a Modernized Byzantine Style.
The devotion to the Sacred Heart began around 1672. In apparitions to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a Visitation nun, Jesus explained how he desired people to be devoted to His Most Sacred Heart and how they were to practice this devotion. Jesus desired for the symbol of His Heart of flesh to be honored and adored, which is a symbol of His undying love for mankind and an endless source of mercy. He desired acts of reparation to be made, frequent Communion, Communion on the First Friday of the every month, and the institution of the Holy Hour.1
