About Our Lady of Guadalupe:
Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Deigo, a humble peasant farmer, on Tepeyac Hill, the former site of an Aztec Temple. Through Our Lady’s instruction to Juan Diego and miraculous signs, a chapel was constructed at this site. Through the veneration of Our Lady, millions turned away from worshiping false gods and making human sacrifices and were converted to Catholicism.
Originally a patron to Latin America, Pope Pius XII extended her patronage to all of the Americas in 1946.
Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe: December 12
Patron Saint of: the Americas
Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe
Our Lady of Guadalupe, mystical rose, make intercession for the Holy Church, protect the Sovereign Pontiff, help all those who invoke thee in their necessities, and since thou art the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of God, obtain for us from thy most holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life, burning charity and the precious gift of final perseverance. Amen.
